Why do engineers at big tech make so much money?

An IC4 (around 2 years experience) at meta makes like 200k.
For comparison, thats roughly equivalent to average total comp for a big box store manager.

The real question is how quickly or sensitive the market is to your trades.

It’s impossible to get almost effortlessly rich on crypto like in 2020/21, 2017/16 and 2012/13. Nowadays it’s just a casino with even more risk attached to it than a regular one.
If you’re making alot of money, you were either already loaded years ago, and/or know the right grifters to get in early on rugpulls.
There has not been a single prominent innovative solution in the past half decade in this industry that has transformed the game.
It’s already largely mainstream, highly adopted by normies and third worlders.

Ironically your only bet is buying BTC. You may have some luck in futures/options trading but you’ll have far lower risk and arguably same if not better returns with a forex account.
