Posting and Submission Guide 2021 (Read this prior to participating in this sub)
Tue, 09 Mar 2021 17:11:59Welcome to AmateurRoomPorn. If you have been re-directed to this post, it is because you did not read the posting guide prior to participating. If you just joined the sub, please give this post a read. You will have an infinitely better Reddit experience if you read the sidebars/posting guides/sub rules for where you want to post or comment. https://www.reddit.com/r/AmateurRoomPorn/about/rules/ All subs have rules. There is a good reason for those rules. They have proven to be necessary to uphold the high quality of submissions and to ensure that everyone act with a modicum of decency to one another. Don't let the sub title mislead you. This is a home decorating sub. Any links or even hinting to your Only Fans account will earn you an immediate and permanent ban. This includes posting from an associated account. The most common problem with new submissions is that they are not titled correctly. Your title must include type of room and location (city and/or state). This is all. Do not make long drawn out titles. Do not use "show me some love" "do you guys like this" "It's not much but..." or any thing else that could be construed as a plea for upvotes or asking for any feedback. If your post can't stand without you hyping it up, perhaps it is not worth sharing. Also, if your title implies in anyway that the room is not finished, the post will be removed. Work-in-progress posts are only permitted on the weekend. Do not use the word cozy in your title. It was the most overused adjective in this sub’s titles to the point that it is now banned. It's also a test to ensure that you actually read the rules prior to posting. I implore you to read sidebars and check out some top submissions in ANY subreddit you choose to participate in. Reddit mods are not here to be dictators. We are here to keep the boards organized and keep people from being rude to one another. This sub has a strictly enforced "constructive criticism only" policy. You are permitted to say what you don't like about a room, provided that you do it in a polite way, while offering advice as to how you would make it better. That is what constructive criticism is. If you take any issue with this, you will not be allowed to participate in this sub. On Saturdays and Sundays, we relax the rules and have Slack-post Weekends. This is when people may submit design help requests, rooms with no location, unfinished rooms, etc. Please upload your photo directly to Reddit (as opposed to using an IMGUR link). Posts with the photo uploaded are viewed best on mobile. This will ensure that you get the maximum amount of upvotes. As the founder of this sub, I want all users to get the optimum amount of upvotes and to enjoy the comments sections. If you have any additional questions, you can ask them below Additionally, I am always seeking mod help. If this is one of your favorite subs and you want to help keep it running smoothly, please PM me. I also need a bot builder, as it's time to put more guards in place to fight the actual porn/nudity submissions. We are on track to hit a million followers by the end of this year. That is so exciting and I am beyond happy with what this sub has become. We are the best personal home decorating board anywhere and our comments sections are some of the most pleasant and informational chatting on Reddit. Any ideas, suggestions, feedback are welcome below. submitted by /u/FucksGuysWithAccents [link] [comments]
Sleeping Porch in Century Home, Illinois
Mon, 28 Jul 2025 16:12:06This is my favorite space in our Colonial Revival Foursquare home, ca. 1904. It’s the reason I had to have this house. Growing up I stayed at a friends house that was a late 1800s Gothic Revival and it really awakened my deep affinity for old houses. It had two sleeping porches on it and we’d stay out there in the summer and I spent my entire adult life chasing that high until we found this house. It was a disaster when we bought the house so I had to rebuild the original wood windows, make screens, scrape and paint every surface, and decorate. It was a job. I was inspired a lot by Camp Waundawega in Wisconsin, but ended up going a different direction with decor. My kids love sleeping out there and I hope they carry those memories with them forever cuz I worked my butt off on it! submitted by /u/baristacat [link] [comments]

My “sun” asked for wallpaper
Sun, 27 Jul 2025 12:44:10We live in a ca 1904 midwestern colonial revival foursquare that we’ve been working on since 2019. Most of my diy is done (except for window restoration) and since I had a baby last September it’s been mostly on hiatus. But my son’s room needed a glow up. So I refreshed it with this sunny print from Spoonflower. Be nice, it was my second time wallpapering and there are some imperfections I’m aware of. I’m trying to punch up some of my duller spaces with more color. I want to wallpaper everywhere now. submitted by /u/baristacat [link] [comments]

Just completed decorating the Victorian Terrace I recently bought, which also doubles up as my art studio, Darlington UK
Fri, 25 Jul 2025 13:49:05The house was plain white and with no flooring when I got it back in March, which made it the perfect blank canvas for me to work with. I work as an artist, so turned the largest bedroom into a studio. submitted by /u/michaelpybus [link] [comments]

F23, California. I wish i had a pic of the depression hole this was before
Mon, 21 Jul 2025 18:34:17I went through every single belonging i own, rearranged and invested in some new pieces. It was a dusty dark mess before. I absolutely hated being in here. It feels so me now, so real. Instead of my nice things being strewn around and stepped on, i get to look at all my happy sentimental items everyday. Ignore my gutted ceiling fan i need to replace that. And yes, i do like ska. submitted by /u/Consistent-Amoeba-84 [link] [comments]

"[Before/After] From Tokyo Chaos to Cozy Cinema: My Tiny 9m² (97 sq ft) Apartment Transformation!"
Sun, 13 Jul 2025 15:52:09Hey Reddit! Wanted to share a little project I've been working on in my tiny Tokyo apartment. Living in Japan, space is always a premium, and my entire room is only 9 square meters (approximately 97 sq ft). To give you an idea of how compact that is, it’s about the size of five Game of Thrones' Tyrions lying down — maybe three Jon Snows if they squeeze. Not sure Sansa would approve! It started off as a bit of a disaster zone with boxes and clutter everywhere. My goal was to completely transform this small room into a relaxing sanctuary where I could truly unwind and enjoy movies, music, and games on a big screen. Despite the small footprint, I focused on a few key elements to make this transformation happen: • Projector Power: Instead of a TV, I went with a high-quality projector to maximize screen size. It's truly like having a cinema wall! • Sound Immersion: Good audio was crucial, so I invested in a decent sound system to complement the visual experience. You can really feel the difference when watching a movie or listening to music. • Smart Storage & Lighting: To combat the small space, I chose minimalist furniture with integrated storage. Plus, warm ambient lighting and a few plants really helped create that inviting atmosphere. The journey from "before" to "after" was challenging but so rewarding. Now, whether it's an epic movie night or just chilling with some music, this room feels like my ultimate escape. What do you guys think? Any tips for small space living or home theater setups? Also, I'd love to hear your impressions of Japanese apartments in general — is this kind of space even imaginable where you live? Let me know in the comments! submitted by /u/UniversityLive7053 [link] [comments]
